Meet Murat Ozuzun
Born in Istanbul, Turkey, Murat started his jewelry apprenticeship in 1982 at just 14 years old. He moved to Los Angeles in 1985 to train alongside Armenian master jewelers, honing his craft for years before life took him to Skagway, Alaska after 9/11.
There, he and his wife Jennifer opened The Local Jeweler in 2005 — and ran it for nearly two decades before bringing their passion for fine craftsmanship to San Tan Valley, where they proudly opened the area's first jewelry store.
Over 40 years, three cities, and countless custom pieces later, one thing hasn't changed.
